Flow Visualization With Fur (2003)

I co-wrote a paper on nature-inspired visualization techniques, which applies fur to flow visualization. Working with NASA and UCSC, we tested our work on a "delta wing" with air flow simulated using computational fluid dynamics. The paper has been provisionally accepted for publication in Computers and Graphics (Elsevier).

Fur Rendering (2002)

Inspired by fur research by Jed Lengyl at Microsoft Research and funded by a grant from UC Santa Cruz, I wrote a simplified version of fur rendering and simulation.

Cloud Rendering (2003)

Based on the work by Mark J. Harris at UNC, I wrote a simplified version of his PhD work on cloud rendering.

Cloth Simulation (2002)

I wrote a cloth simulator, based on a system of springs, and used a flag as a demo. The cloth is completely configurable and flaps in the wind.

Free-form Deformation (2002)

Captain Kirk and his starship Enterprise are no match for my real-time deformation program. Based on work by Sederberg and Parry, my program can deform models in 2D and 3D.

Tree Generator (2001)

Based on research and experimentations I have done on L-Systems, I wrote a program which allows trees, bushes, and grasses to be generated and manipulated in real-time.
